Description:
Foster Update 5/5/10: So far Peggy has been a perfect angel. She was nervous getting into the car (I had to lift her in) and seemed nervous as we were driving. She has been very quiet and cautious in our house, hesitant to go into different rooms. She just kind of hangs out (has not done any pacing) and watches what is going on and waits for her rubs and pets. She definitely loves the attention from everyone- kids included! She wags her tail furiously while you are petting her and gets as close to you as she possibly can! She and our dog have been completely indifferent towards each other so far. She is definitely more interested in us than our dog. We have no cats so I have no idea how she feels about them. She has not shown any interest in toys or playing, but she does still seem nervous and is still recovering from her surgery just a couple of days ago. She has not made a peep since she has been here, does well in her crate and was quiet all night. She has not tried to chew on anything or get into anything she is not supposed to. She seems to be completely housetrained- has not had any accidents and goes potty immediately when she gets to the grass. I took her for a walk and she did great on the leash. The only time she pulled was when she saw squirrels. She definitely would have liked to go after them! When I feed her, she eats all of her food at once and did not seem to have any food aggression and did not try to go after our dog's food while he was eating. An over all great dog so far!!
Foster Update 5/10/10: Peggy will make someone the best pet! Anyone would be lucky to have her. She is extremely well-mannered- she doesn't jump up and is always very gentle. She is one of the most affectionate, lovable dogs I have ever known. She absolutely LOVES people! She is fine with other dogs, but she definately pays more attention to people. Up until today, she and my dog have pretty much just coexisted with not much interaction. Today they did run around and play together in the yard for the first time. Peggy is perfectly house trained and does fantastic in the crate at night and when we are out of the house. She loves to go for walks and only barks when she sees something she is curious about but can't get to.
