Abount Training Camp:
Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the Greyhound Advancement Center which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.

Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ).

Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family.

If you are interested in potentially adopting one of these dogs, you have the opportunity to attend their graduation and learn directly from their trainer everything they have taught the dog.  Graduation is estimated to take place tentatively November 4, 2022.

We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!

Foster Update 11/5/22:  Are you looking for a great companion?  Toby is a perfect mix of friendly, loyal and loveable. He is well behaved in the house and is very quiet, doesn't bark or jump on people and is house trained. He also loves to sleep in, or really sleep anytime especially when he can find a real cushy spot! He does well on a leash and likes to take a good walk with his person a few times a day. He does get excited when you say "walk" and walks very well on his leash. Toby is also is very smart, knows basic commands and is quick to learn new ones. Toby is easily attached to his people and likes attention. He is a real snuggle buddy and enjoys to be cuddled and petted and is always up for a Netflix binge. If you are looking for a life-long friend and a new member of your family, Toby would be happy to be your good boy!

Toby i s a super sweet, curious boy. He is a "nose to the ground kinda Hound!" He is an escape artist, so he can not be left alone in a yard.  We did discover that he can jump a 6 ft. fence.

He did live with older teenagers and would be ok with older/considerate teens.
