DOG 4 A DAY UPDATE:  My boyfriend and I came to pet rescue by Judy on Saturday looking to meet a dog to adopt. We saw many cute pups of all shapes and sizes but decided to take Marlo into the play room due to his gentle disposition and calm demeanor. We called that night and asked if we could adopt for a day for a day. The next day we picked him up to meet our dog on a walk. They got along just fine so we took him to my in-laws where he had a backyard and lake to play around. He immediately ran for the lake, jumping and playing in the water with our dog and the neighbors' dogs. I gave him a much needed bath (softest coat ever!) and treats. After that we came to our home and relaxed. A little bit later we took both dogs to PetSmart for a bone of his own. He was well behaved the whole time, greeting both people and dogs in a friendly, calm manner. Everyone who saw him was so enamored with how sweet and gentle he was. Then we came home and watched TV and cuddled on the couch. He slept with me in the bed, a little restless but eventually settling in. The next day while we were at work he was crate trained and seemed to do very well. There were no accidents the whole time he was with us for 2 days so I assume he's house trained. If he did grab a non toy item to chew he was fine with us taking it away and replacing it with a toy. He doesn't know commands like sit but seems like he'd be a quick learner. The only reason Marlo isn't ours is due to his size. At 7 months and 50lbs we thought he might be too big for me to handle both dogs on my own. He favors his back left leg which didn't affect his play but it did seem to bother him by getting comfortable on the couch or in the car. Not sure if this is a temporary thing or not.
Whoever ends up with Marlo will have a great dog. He bonded very quickly to both of us and just wants to be loved.
