Disney was returned to us as her owner was not able to afford her anymore.  She is such a sweet mellow girl.  She loves to go on walks and just hang with us in the office.  She gets along with other dogs also.  We would be able to cat test her if necessary.

Disney and her seven puppies came to us from a high kill animal shelter in the Panhandle.  All of her pups have been adopted and now Disney just needs to find her forever home!

Here's some great info. about her sweet personality from her loving foster:

  • Fully house trained, not a single accident in the house and can hold it all day
  • Crate trained and goes in there willingly when it's time to go to work
  • Has slight separation anxiety but as long as she's crated with toys it is not a problem (no bedding)
  • Well trained, highly food and attention motivated and does not jump on furniture or people
  • Comes when called and knows commands Sit, Shake and is learning Stay
  • No food or resource aggression at all
  • Perfect for a home with children (even under age 10) and dogs of all sizes
  • Has previously lived in a foster home with cats and ignored them
  • Walks well on the leash and enjoys walks, although she prefers not to potty while on walks (she likes her privacy!)
  • Must live in a home with a fenced-in yard
  • Knows how to use a doggy door
  • Very weet and loving and well behaved
  • Very sensitive personality and if she's been naughty a stern voice alone will send her to the corner
  • Not hyper, likes to play but also happy to just hang out with her people
  • Does very well at the dog park and loves to play with all the other dogs, never has any issues getting along

According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Bluetick Coonhound is the state dog of Tennessee where it is said to have originated. Selective breeding in Louisiana of Foxhounds, Blackmouth Curs, French Hounds and English Coonhounds have led to a dog that is intelligent and devoted to its family. Naturally curious and fearless, companion dogs should not be allowed off-leash in an unsecured area, as they may take off after an interesting scent. These dogs are not suited for sedate life, and need extensive daily exercise. They have a life expentancy of around 12 years.
