This kitten was first known as "436" - because she was found as a super tiny baby on the side of Semoran boulevard. Thank GOODNESS our good samaritan pulled over and rescued this baby girl. There is NO WAY this kitten would have survived the traffic and the heat.

 

After spending time with her foster, her name was changed to Bella, to reflect the lovely young lady she's become. She is a beauty and a princess :)  Come meet our pretty girl and see why we are SO grateful that she was rescued!

 

10/14: FOSTER UPDATE:

I have had the privelige of fostering 436 (Bella) for the past three months. She was about two  months old when I got her, and a tiny little thing. She's grown a bit, but I think she'll always be a smaller kitty. This is absolutely the sweetest cat I have ever known. She LOVES to be held and cuddled. You can pick her up any time and all she does is purr (she's a total purr machine). She loves people and will greet them when they come in. I think she would be excellent for an older child (no really little ones as she still does the kitten nipping thing and sometimes uses her claws to play- I've been working on this with her and while she does it less than she used to, it still happens on occasion). She's a talker too- especially when you come home after being gone for a while. Bella is a climber. She has managed to make it to the top of my closet on more than one occasion, at which point she meows piteously because she can't get down. I would highly reccomend a cat tree. She also loves cat toys, in particular anything with a bell and her kitty fishing rod with feather toy. She has NEVER gone to the bathroom outside the litter box (even the time that I accidentally shut the bathroom door for a few hours). Bella is fine with dogs as long as they don't chase her. I'm not sure about cats, as my roommate's cat didn't like her from the moment I brought her home. At first Bella avoided her, but as she got older she started to chase/bully her a little. I think she'd be okay with cat-friendly cats, but she's never been exposed to any. Oh...and oddly enough, Bella LOVES car rides. She went into the cat carrier fine when I had to drive, but if someone else was driving she'd ride peacefully in my lap! Everyone that meets Bella absolutely adores her, and if it had been possible, I would have adopted her myself. She will be an excellent addition to your family.

 

Centuries of superstition in the U.S. have given the black cat a bad name. But in other countries such as England and Japan, the black cat is considered to be good luck! In fact, Charles I of England owned a black cat and loved it so much, the cat was kept under constant guard. When the cat became ill and died, it just so happened that Charles was arrested the next day.... How's that for luck?!

Due to the association of black cats with witches and other "dark forces" in the United States, there is an increase in abuse of black cats around the time of Halloween. Many people will adopt black cats for "decoration" and then release them. For this reason, many animal rescues do not make black cats available for adoption during the month of October.
